A catchy VC term or the next generation of the internet? Through this discussion we will take a look at Web3, the technology behind it, and its future use cases (and no, it's not just jpegs).

As product leaders it is important to consistently evaluate new trends and technology, and to anticipate their impacts on our products and users. There are many challenges ahead for web3, for example the average consumers using web2 platforms may find it difficult or complicated to access the web3 ecosystem. However, as problem solvers in collaboration with our rockstar engineering peers, we will solve these problems and it starts with familiarizing users via existing products and services. With web2 leaders like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Meta all investing heavily in exploring blockchain and web3 technology it may not be long until web3 requirements make it into your own products. Through this discussion, we will socialize some of the core technology, services and use cases that are ahead.

About the Instructor:

Chris Sutton

Chris Sutton is the founder of N17 Capital, an early seed stage venture capital firm focused on Web3 technologies and advisory services. Chris has extensive knowledge in developing technology platforms and currently acts as the Director of Product Development for Blockchain and Digital Assets at Mastercard. He holds a Master of Science, with merit, in Financial Systems Engineering from the University College London and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Florida International University.
